Susan Gentz brings to the firm decades of experience advising national and regional telecommunications and broadband infrastructure providers, including wireless carriers, on legal issues impacting their business operations.
Her focus is in business and contract matters, as well as on compliance with Texas regulation and public right-of-way access. Ms. Gentz represents clients in Texas agency rulemaking and contested case proceedings impacting VoIP and telecommunications service providers. Her telecommunications practice includes advising clients on regulatory requirements associated with acquisitions, fiber deployment and small cell deployment in municipal public right-of-way, telecommunications provider access to multi-tenant buildings, 9-1-1 compliance, and obtaining Texas eligibility for federal and state USF support. Specifically, Ms. Gentz has extensive experience negotiating city right-of-way agreements, fiber easements and cabinet leases, and in negotiating interconnection agreements and service agreements between competitors.
She received her law degree with honors from University of Texas at Austin in 1982 and a Bachelor of Science in economics from George Washington University, Washington, D.C., in 1970. Ms. Gentz served as past President of the Public Utility Law section of the State Bar of Texas, and is a member of the Austin Bar Association and Federal Communications Bar Association. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court and in the state of Texas.
